  • Roberto Massa Ortiz: My Analysis on Lucas Matthysses Opponent.

Roberto Ortiz has wicked power. He has 24 of his 31 wins coming by way of KO. Impressive. One thing I noticed that was common in a lot of his fights are an elbow incident and some headbutts, Some on him, and some on his opponent. Anyway Matthysse should be on upset alert because he was dropped in his last 2 fights and this fighter has fight ending power.

Here is one of his fights, He knocks his opponent down multiple times but his opponent knocks him down once. This doesn't have round 1 but on boxrec it says Ortiz Knocked his opponent down in every round. His opponents record at the time was 23-0 and is currently now 34-2.

This will not be a cake walk for Lucas and he could very well lose.

big puncher, like molina jr, and he is also taller than lucas. but against molina beside the 2º round KD lucas dominated the fight, it wasn't as close as people make it to be.

Molina won a bunch of rounds. The fight was close, but Lucas was winning by a close margin on my card.

Lucas fans complaining that he's getting tough fights. He should thank haymon he's not facing a boxer. He's already lost to 3 boxers

how much is a bunch? i had him winning only the rounds were the KDs occurred, watch the stats post fight, the amount of power punches landed by each are not even at all. something like 200 vs 80

5 rounds is a bunch. I gave him the knockdown rounds and I gave him 1,3,7.

After Getting dropped 3 times within his last 2 fights, this is a tough fight. This fight is no cherry pick, and if Ortiz wins, then it grabs the attention of the other 140 pound belt holders and they are then put on notice.

I don't think he won any of the later rounds, second half of the fight belonged to Matthysse.

What's interesting to me is that three of Ortiz's last 5 opponents have gone at least 10 rounds and they're not big names so maybe his power isn't as his record suggests. We'll see on the night I guess.

But Lucas got dropped in his last two fights. I expect this fight to be dirty as well, a clash of heads. I think Ortiz has a real chance at winning. Boxrec says it is 10 rounds though, and if it is, I am shocked because this should be a 12 rounder.

I don't know why you feel upset alert here. I watched this video, this Roberto Ortiz guy can punch and can fight but he's swinging wild, he almos never kept his hands up in turn he isn't fast enough to dodge. Honetly his defense seems to be very poor, and he hasn't got a good chin either based on what I saw.
I think Matthysse will win easily by KO/TKO but I thought the same about the Molina fight and that one turned out to one of the best fights in this year as far.
