Comments Thread For: Verdejo, Jose Lopez Look To Make Statement on 8/16

CAGUAS, PR- The last time they fought on the same card, Felix Verdejo received criticism for knocking out his opponent way too fast, and Jose ‘Wonder Boy’ Lopez for having to extend his fight into a decision. Now the Puerto Rican prospects that were in action on the June 7 card at Madison Square Garden that was headlined by Miguel Cotto’s victory over Sergio ‘Maravilla’ Martinez, will be the main-eventers of the card that is named Future Stars and that will be presented by Miguel Cotto Promotions on August 16 at the Hector Sola Bezares Coliseum in Caguas.

$50 for tickets? You pay for the $12 and can be standing in one of the corners. There is no security or usher in there.

Great this is a TR card. With TR we have a good selection of beers. With Cotto, not that good.

Dude has 14 Fights and all of the with bums..But will be considered in media as a better boxer than Lomachenko ,who is world champ with only 3 Fights.

I guess we read a different article. Where did they mention Lomachenko in this piece?

Its the fashion that Verdejo wins in and the boxing that he displays. GGG, Canelo, Lara, etc. had a run of bums that they beat but there hype was high too.

Lomachenko is way better than Verdejo, and I think the Media knows it.

Verdejo is a young prospect...the kid is active thats good enough. 16-0 and he should face his first real challenge. But let him build confidence and grow like a prospect.
