The rating was down roughly 9% from Kovalev***8217;s previous appearance on HBO, a 7th round knockout of Cedric Agnew, which drew an average of just over 1 million viewers in his first network headliner.

I read that but it doesn't make sense to me.

Kovalev v Caparello average: 990,000
Kovalev v Caparello peak: 1,052,000

Peaked higher but averaged less.... Agnew peak is less too considering he lasted three times longer.

Yeah, I could speculate that it means Kov/Agnew held its initial viewers while Kov/Caparello lost them but I don't know exactly how to interpret.

If it peaked at over 1 million and it was only a 2 round fight, thats pretty good

It would've averaged over a million if it went 7 rounds like the Agnew fight

Boxing ratings have been down pretty much all year accross the board it seems besided a few exceptions.

it's cos there haven't been many compelling fight cards, major ones anyway. A lot of the smaller shows, on both sides of the Atlantic have had some real excitement
