One of the best fights of the year so far, for sure. I still think Matthysse/Molina is probably #1, but I honestly found this one more compelling than Crawford/Gamboa. Then again, I really wanted Gamboa to win :,(.

Anyways, I thought Broner looked excellent in spots, but I still don't understand why he has those lulls where he stops throwing. I mean, I know WHY...it's because his opponent is putting the pressure on. But I don't understand why he doesn't realize that he's throwing points away, and that shaking his head and talking trash aren't making up for his lack of punching. When he stands his ground in the center of the ring, his true talent is put on display, and he'd be a nightmare for anyone. As it stands, I feel like Matthysse's pressure would be too much. Matthysse hits too hard to just lay back and wait for him to stop throwing.

Broner finally got around to realizing you don't win the fight because you have a rapper walk you in or talk to the guy your fighting, you win by punching him.

Can't really complain about the scores but I thought despite looking really good, broner gave away a few rounds. Can't get away with that in big fights.

He's gonna beat matthysse by a wider margin than danny did if he fights every round like he did 10 and 12.

Garcia won because he put in a workman-like performance; he kept it simple. Broner is going to be too busy trying to look cute to stay on his feet for 12 rounds against Matts. He needs to drop all of that excessive **** he does to win imo.

Danny Garcia is a better fighter than Broner. Danny Garcia hasn't been exposed as a hypejob in three of is past four fights. Danny Garcia isn't where he is because of being pushed by promoters, to the point of being a paper champion in 3 divisions. Not a very good comparison.

That was an unskilled brawl with no power or stamina. Nobody better call Rios unskilled again if they're going to pass that off as "highly skilled technical brawling". Smh.

Fair enough. I thought Broner was gassed early too. He was more inactive than usual and breathing from the mouth heavily by round 6

He really has nowhere else to go - he can't keep fighting easy opponents. Or he could go back to Maidana
