Comments Thread For: Bradley's Trainer Likes The Idea of a Miguel Cotto Clash

A few weeks ago former 140 and 147 pound champion Tim Bradley was mentioned as a possible opponent for newly crowned WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto.

BoxingScene.com recently caught up with Bradley's trainer Joel Diaz to get his take on the possible match up.

"Tim is not a tall guy but if you go back to the end of his amateur career he was fighting at 152," said Diaz. "Timmy isn't a big fighter but Miguel Cotto isn't either. With that being the case, we will take the fight. Miguel Cotto is a very strong fighter. He has a devastating left hook."

Can Arum and Top **** stop encouraging this fight? It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Why on earth would the lineal MW champion fight a small WW? What on earth is going on here?

This is a very winnable fight for Bradley, Bradley could win the middleweight title agaisnt Miguel.

They could make the fight at 155-156 catchweight.

Tim is the one beasting for this fight because he's gonna only wanna fight for big money. He could fight Chaves, Rios maybe Alvardo or Ruslan but I bet he thinks he's too good for them. So he's gonna push for a Cotto fight. That's best fight for him as far as money goes. I would like to see him and Chaves tbh. Let Rios fight Ruslan in a battle of ******s on the undercard.

You have a point. Bradley is not going to take anymore step down fights, he already said he is thinking of retiring. He might push hard for the cotto fight to take a crack at the middleweight title to add to his legacy and line his pockets.

Bradley got paid over 10 million for two fights with Pacquiao, he should at least get 3 to 4 million guarantee with Cotto and some ppv.

If he wins it also entices Mayweather to try and fight a small Bradley for the 160 pound title.

True but on paper it will show Bradley beating the man who beat the man.
