No because Thurman was beating him from the outside, different style of fighter.

Chaves did a great job of selling the headbutt even though he was the one clinching and pulling both of Rios arms down at times.

Yeah I know, that's kinda my point. Thurman didn't need to come in with his head and beat Chaves from the outside. While Rios constantly head butted him when he got in close.

People crap on Chaves saying he doesn't have power, yet he was just in there with steel skulled Rios.... who BTW won't be steel skulled much longer. Rios was head butting alot thru the fight and I don't hear many whining about that. Used to like Rios, but his performance Sat was dismal. Yes, Chaves should have boxed from the start, but it won't be the first time a fighter abandoned a game plan when the incoming was so crazy.

Rios went in head first because that's his style, although not with intent to headbutt his opponent. The fact Chaves doesn't know what to do when attacked is what led to the fight turning ugly.

Rios is a great inside fighter. Against Alvarado we saw some great exchanges on the inside where neither guy resorted to clinching. Obviously Alvarado is more experienced fighter on this inside than Chaves and we never saw any headbutts in that fight which was practically fought in a phone booth.

Rios was gonna lose, you saw how his fat arse manager Dunkin jumped up on the apron and told him to be quite, Rios makes $ for bob, and bob new that if rios lost it would end up hurting his pockets.. Very bad night for boxing, Rios need to get another trainer to help him with his defense, Garcia can still be the man, but he needs a chief 2nd to spend hrs in the gym with him just focusing on D. Chaves was gonna hurt him if it continued, very very bad night - dude went through a lot to get ****ed.
What fight was you watching? Chaves was holding BOTH his arms near the elbows since the 2nd round.

The fight was obviously fixed Chaves shouldn't feel bad about his performance he was just giving the rough stuff back to the dirty fighter that is Rios.
Chaves was fighting dirtier than rios. Holding both his arms near the elbows since early in the fight. Mike perez style.

I don't normally point out physical deformation, but this is boxing. Rios has skinny legs, a serious flaw in any fighter. The power comes from the legs up. He can't catch anybody, nobody I can think of, and when he gets hurt, he's going to get hurt, how will he get away? Maybe I'm wrong, but he has no legs.

Wait so rios is a punching bag even tho they landed the same amount of shots , rios landed more power shots AND Rios landed at a higher percentage. What the hell does that make you if he's a punching bag
