WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (28-0, 16KOs) is not concerned with the members of the media who are dissatisfied with his upcoming opponent, huge underdog Rod Salka (19-3, 3KOs). The Showtime televised fight is scheduled for this Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Originally the fight was scheduled to be a title fight, but neither the WBC or the WBA were willing to sanction the contest, because Salka, who is moving up from 135-pounds, is unranked at junior welterweight.

The real disheartening thing is Garcia could have said no to this fight. He knows this guy is not deserving of this fight but he agreed. I suppose he wanted any touch after getting a gift decision against Herrera. This is more disappointing than Mayweather and Pacquiao's choice of opponents. There is at least justification on some level in their choices, but this one by Garcia is a disgrace. I could understand if this guy was a champion at 135 and is moving up or an undefeated guy with a high KO%, but he is not even a contender at 135. For Danny Garcia to act in this manner regarding this fight is shameful. There are too many worthy opponent to choose from. He really should be ashamed of himself.

This is the worst fight of the year, it might be one of the worst fights of all time considering Garcia is the WBA/WBC LWW champ fighting a lowly ranked LW.

People don't like Danny because he's a Puerto Rican *****. It's a damn shame, because every ATG that gets their ass kissed on this site, have taken soft touches during their title reigns. All of the sudden Garcia is the exception to the rule.
