ATLANTIC CITY – Lou DiBella knows better than to count out Bernard Hopkins, but Blake Caparello’s promoter left Revel’s Ovation Hall on Saturday night extremely impressed with Sergey Kovalev’s power.

Russia’s Kovalev overcame a flash knockdown in the first round to drop Caparello three times in the second round on his way to a second-round knockout in the second of three bouts broadcast by HBO. Kovalev’s technical knockout victory secured a November showdown with the 49-year-old Hopkins (55-6-2, 32 KOs, 2 NC), who watched the Kovalev-Caparello fight from a ringside seat Saturday night. yeah, all I hear is how big of a puncher Frankenstein is.....one thing DiBella said that everybody should consider is...BHop maybe the best defensive fighter from MW-LHW....like I said before, 10 yrs ago, this fight is a walk in the park...Father Time has made the more skilled fighter the betting dog....it's cool though, I'll be collecting after the fight

get ready for excessive holding, punching after the break, fake injuries, bernard is gonna be throwing the entire slick arsenal at kovalev.

kovalev has got to train his mind not to fall for all that ignant crap. his im gonna box not destroy hopkins comment was weird and it looks like hopkins mind games in the post fight interview got to kovalev.

Kovalev is going to land, and bad things happen when Kovalev lands. No avoiding that, a hell of a lot worse fighters than Kovalev are landing on Hopkins lately. I wouldn't dare count Hopkins out, Kovalev hasn't proven enough for me to do that, and 4 years ago Hopkins would smoke him, but this isn't 4 years ago. A lot of what Hopkins has done lately is smoke and mirrors against bad fighters.

If he can piss Kovalev off to the point he tries to look for one big punch to knock Hopkins out, Hopkins will probably win. I don't think he does.

I just imagine poor Kovalev's candid mind as being badly confused by B-Hop's so called "mind games"... The poor man is coming all the way from those deserted Russian steppes in order to suffer mental deconstruction from a Philly trickster. Oh my, oh my...

I like Kovalev's explanation to how he would beat Hopkins. He straight up said he is going to box. If the knockout comes...great, he said he's not trying to go for the knockout. The mind games from B-Hop would be to get Sergey to blow a fuse and start saying he's going to knock the old man out (just like all the rest have done before fighting him). I think Sergey has a lot of respect for Hopkins and will continue to enjoy the fact that he'll be in the ring with a Legend. He's looking to beat the legend. Hopkins will try to get into his head and Im sure by the time Nov. comes he might get the response he's hoping for but so far the reaction from team Kovalev is only an overwhelming surprised feeling that they finally got a fight they wanted!

I love Hopkins for what he's done here, what a legend. However, I hope Kovalev wins so Stevenson has to come crawling back.

In fact, I don't mind who wins as long as its a good fight.
