It's been 40+ years since I boxed, and back then we didn't have thumbless gloves, at least where I fought. Aren't all sanctioned fights now requiring thumbless gloves? And besides, Rios was head-butting quite a bit. Where's the outrage for that?

The ref was a jurr-cough for stopping the fight. Round and a half left of an obviously rough and close match, and the ref thinks he has to stick his nose into the outcome. Pathetic.

That card was a fiasco! First of all by the third round the referee had already warn Rios three times to watch his head and only warned Chavez once, maybe twice about holding. There's was no legitimate reason to deduct a point from Chavez. And not foul to DO Chavez. Rios is a little b-itch! That's all and HBO likes his loud mouth character cause it sells?

Also IMO Vargas lost! Not a true warrior. No stamina! No balls!
