    dont think it will happen.

he says he is willing to earn it and if he beats some good guys in impressive fashion froch might fight him again (though i doubt it). the real concern however is i dont think froch will be around long enough for dirrell to earn a shot.

then again who knows, there are lots of fights to be made at 168 including one with andre ward which i think would be relatively easy to make. dirrell has the least worst chance to beat ward imo (cant even use the word best). if he did that froch would pounce at it provided hearn doesnt get in the way.

Remember Dirrell was the one who wobbled Froch at least twice in their match and got an uncalled knockdown. Groves is 8 tiers below Dirrell, let's not hype a domestic fighters who only got big because he was suppose to lose but stuck around longer than he was suppose to. The last three rounds of the Froch Dirrell fight shows how limited and frustrated Froch was and why Dirrell was superior.

I would love to see that fight. They definitely have unfinished business.

Unfortunately, i think Froch is working on his exit strategy. I think he'll fight 2-3 more big fights and call it quits. I can see him fighting Kessler again and Chavez Jr.

If I were Dirrell I would get a belt at 168 first. Then challenge Froch to unify the division before retiring. It's not likely but it may tempt Froch. This is all under the assumption that Dirrell will stay active and motivated.

I honestly didn't have it that close. I like both fighters equally so i'm not picking sides based on who i'm a fan of. I don't think it was a shutout obviously but I don't see how it was possible to swing the fight in favour of Froch. Dirrell beat him in every department. Ignore the crowd noise, commentary teams etc..and just look at the fight. It wasn't close enough where it could go either way. I have massive amounts of respect for Froch and love watching him fight and his resume in the past 6 years is unbelievable but he got a gift that night in my opinion. It doesn't make him any less of a fighter but that night he was not the winner.

Nor am I, I had Dirrell winning close (by 2 rounds iirc). A lot of the media had it close, Iole and Rafael had Froch winning.

However, if a rematch happens Froch as the draw will choose ring size and Dirrell gets knocked out (or quits).

Froch has moved onto another level since the first fight.

I like Dirrell. He should be looking at guys like Kessler first before thinking of challenging Froch.

Thats what Dirrell said, give anybody that can take me to that level so I can earn a fight with Frocj. He said it during the post fight interview.

He specifically said he needs to earn it!

I must admit I did one of the things I hate most about this forum and didn't read the whole article. My bad.

I would love to see that fight. I thought Dirrell beat Froch in their first matchup. But their careers have gone in completely different directions. Dirrell has to earn his way back to a Froch title shot. Which likely won't happen this year, and maybe not even next year unless he beats some top level fighters and stays active.
