Comments Thread For: Manager: If Hopkins Really Wants Kovalev, We’re Here

Boxing manager Egis Klimas can’t say for certain whether Bernard Hopkins truly wants to face his fighter, light heavyweight titleholder Sergey Kovalev, or if Hopkins is just putting Kovalev’s name out there as a way of pressuring 175-pound champion Adonis Stevenson to make a deal with the 49-year-old future Hall of Famer.

But, Klimas says, “If Hopkins really means he wants to fight Sergey, we’re here.” [Click Here To Read More]

Hopkins needs to be VADA tested. "Alien blood" is cheap explanation.

If he doesn't fight Stevenson or kovalev next, that'd be very disappointing

Hopkins move here is strange. Is he trying to leverage SHo/Stevenson for more money? So long as its Stevenson or kovalev next im fine.

Someone's going to get criticized hard around here if Hopkins and Kovalev don't fight. And frankly, with all this talk, if one fighter's side is to blame, they will deserve that criticism.

Inb4 why doesn't Kovalev go after the titleholders in his division instead of fighting bums like Caparello and Agnew?

Inb4 Kovalev doesn't deserve to fight Hopkins or Adonis, but he's an overhyped bum because he hasn't fought anybody

I like Kovalev and all and I am a fan and supporter of his and I also believe that Stevenson outright ducked him.......but if Kovalev fights Hopkins......I have to change ships.....I'll be rooting for Hopkins all the way. I like both guys but my heart goes with Hopkins on this one. But as long as Hopkins does not age overnight and get hurt, that's all that matters to me.

Russian Can Krusher already ducked Legendary Old Man some time ago and fought english punching bag Cleverly instead.

Hope that pussy being serious this time.

stevenson or kovalev either one would be great, anything else will be lame.
