  • Comments Thread For: Daniel Jacobs Humbled By Hometown Title Opportunity

Four years ago, Daniel Jacobs was an unbeaten middleweight who many believed was being rushed towards a title shot. The camera-friendly Brooklyn native was thought to be yet the latest in line of Al Haymon-advised fighters who get their opportunity whenever the high-powered adviser snaps his fingers.

The aftermath justified such skepticism, as Jacobs suffered his lone defeat to date, a 5th round stoppage at the hands of Dmitry Pirog in their July ’10 vacant title fight in Las Vegas.

The author says that Jacobs full conquered cancer. He must have never had a family member or close friend with cancer. Once a cancer patient always a cancer patient.

I have to admit that I was a little confused on what belt they would be fighting for. It was because for a fraction of a second I thought the boxing world was normal and I forgot all about the WBA's idiotic gasoline terminology Super and Regular champs. I also have a question. How in the world does Boxing Rec justify having Golovikin at number 1 and Cotto at number 2? Even if GGG is better then Cotto it hasn't been proven in the ring. So in my opinion it stinks and I'm a big GGG fan.
