What's the point of fighting the 77th ranked lightweight at welterweight, smh. Fight the 77th ranked welterweight ffs.

So he can look good winning this time...which he might not again.

If Salka can handle the weight... he could spoil for a while. Decent jab and works well off it. Sounds fairly intelligent when talking about fights and knowing what he needs to do.... but watching his fights, there were points were if he tried it with Danny, he'd get countered, and he's two weightclasses removed from where he's comfortable

im tired of all this weight losing crap in boxing what happened to fighting at your real weight or at least close to it. I had a convo with a guy about what weight to fight at and he said he was 150+ normally but he fought at 132 so he could be stronger than his opponenets which I understand but this guy was supposed to be a pro boxer with a lot of skill so I asked him why not move to 140 or better especially if you are trying to make it to the top, if you cant fight around your own weight it will eventually catch up with you one way or the other.

If you ask me it's a smart move. Whether Garcia couldn't make weight or whatever his issue was, it was a smart move to use his leverage to get the kid to agree to a catch weight. This is most definitely Danny's last fight at 140, he's moving up to WW and I think this slow but steady approach will do him justice in the future. Hell, Khan didn't get much flack for his catch weight fight before moving up to WW. Why should Danny?

Danny needs to finish this in 5 rounds or less.

if danny doesn't take out #78 ranked lightweight salka within two rounds then he is officially the worst "champion" in boxing history.

I was once a fan of Danny Garcia but it seems like he is turning into Money by holding onto a title as long as he can while fighting inferior competition. I mean, come on, Rod Salka? This is truly pathetic. I thought that Herrera was a cherry picked fight for Garcia and looked what happened! Herrera really won that fight and Danny was given a hometown gift. I guess he got scared by having so much trouble with Herrera that he dropped down in competition further! This is just another embarrassment to add to the pile of trash that is the state of pro boxing. A champion fighting someone who isn't even ranked should not even be possible. The commissions obviously have no authority whatsoever and no control over creating legitimate match ups for would be world title fights. The commission as well as Garcia and his camp should hand their heads in shame. I think Danny's probably on as much coke as Angel and is afraid of losing his title to better competition.

for the love of odin, its not enough that you are fighting the 77th ranked lightweight in the world, you had to make it a catch weight fight too?

                      truly pathetic. thanks al haymon.
