New European Middleweight Champion Billy Joe Saunders has backed friend Frankie Gavin to beat Leonard Bundu this Friday night in Wolverhampton and become European Welterweight Champion.

Saunders defeated Italian Emanuele Blandamura last Saturday in Manchester with a stunning eighth round stoppage to add the prestigious European belt to his British and Commonwealth titles, and believes Birmingham star Gavin can halt Bundu to become a triple champion.

The pair have followed almost identical career paths from being GB amateur team mates; turning professional at the same time with Frank Warren; both holding unbeaten records; both winning British and Commonwealth titles.

Gavin has the tools to cause a big upset??? Gavin is red hot favourite with every bookie in the UK, best price a prohibitive 4/11 with Ladbrokes. I expect a good fight, though. Bundu is old but nevertheless strong and tough and he knows how to get the best from the skills he has. Frankie to win but he's facing a worthy opponent.

Frankie Gavin, britains most protected fighter, this dude is rated ahead of Rios and Josesito Lopez and many more,

I think Bundu will be a test, However he should face the winner of Rios vs Chaves next, been around since 2009 so he's not really done allot in almost 5yrs

Don't see Gavin winning a world title. Seems way too small to be a welterweight and doesn't punch hard.
