  • Pacquiao wants to train once a week for Algieri and focus on coaching basketball

    So some Filipino guy on Philboxing said that in a Filipino TV report, Pacquiao is not going to train in his Baguio boxing gym but will train in a make shift gym in a hotel near where the new PBA basketball team is he is going to focus more on being a player coach because he claims it is selfish of him to take on a duty and responsibility as a player coach but to only give those guys little time, his main focus will be spending more hours a week coaching his guys while he wants to train only once or twice a week for Chris Algieri and apparently he doesn't want to spar for this fight either.

    This smells like an upset special, Pacman really don't give a crap about boxing.

    This is the only article I could find on it, but it doesn't say anything about only training once a week or no sparring,but dam wtf he wants to focus more on this basketball team, Freddie roach is not going to be happy.
    Arum told the Manila Standard/Viva Sports that everything was going excellently and that Algieri would be in New York until he leaves for China to begin the promotional tour alongside Pacquiao.

    He said it was ***8220;interesting***8221; to learn that Pacquiao would train at the classy Azure resort in Bicutan, Taguig for the Algieri fight even as he inquired from us where it was located and what kind of facilities it has for a training camp.

    The manager of the Kia expansion team in the Philippine Basketball Association Eric Pineda said they plan to prepare a boxing gym for Pacquiao who could train as playing-coach also work out with the basketball team which would be convenient.
    Arum said he agreed with well known Australian promoter Peter Maniatis that ***8220;it is not an easy fight***8221; pointing out that besides having a height and reach advantage over Pacquiao, Algieri ***8220;moves very well.***8221;
