Well I'm eating a lot of crow right now. Following his Stevens fight, which was a ratings hit, this is a big time disaster. From 1.5M to 750K, how does that even happen?
Looks like GGG will have to wait again to get a big fight... Maybe he should fight Ward and Lara after all?

Though casual fans are dumb and don't know $h1t about boxing, They are part of the Large demographic that buys PPV's. GGG can easily beat the PPV stars not named Mayweather. I noticed GGG Having trouble with speed and boxing skills so that is why I pick Mayweather against him but you and I both know that that fight is not happening and I know GGG vs Mayweather is a fight you would badly want to see because I know you don't like Mayweather.
Check this formula out.
GGG vs Cotto at MSG. GGG demolishes Cotto in front of his fans at MSG and around the world people witness it on ppv
GGG Vs Canelo: An exposed Irish Mexican that GGG paints his face the same color as his hair, Also on PPV. The world was watching and They really want to see more GGG
GGG vs Chavez Jr. GGG at this point is now a bigger draw than Chavez and because of Chavez's name it sells, even though Chavez is crap. GGG gets the win and it is also on PPV
With this Formula, GGG Has made it to the Big-time. Boxing needs a star and GGG may be the answer to that puzzle when Mayweather an Pacquiao are retired. Ward will be the best and GGG will be the draw. But Ward beats GGG any day of the week. Point Blank, Plain and Simple.
GGG has an easy path to becoming a major success in boxing and he doesn't have to build his career off fighting Leftovers. The main champs are scared of him. That is how much he is known in the boxing community. If you are scaring the big dogs in the division you are in, you have pretty much Almost made it. You make it till you fight those scared ones.
If Cotto Fights Canelo, I fear GGG will never get the opportunity to become that star.
GGG: "Ill fight anyone 154-168"
Ward: "ill fight you at 168"
GGG: "it doesnt make financial sense. You can't draw. I want miguel cotto instead"
Cotto: "It doesnt make financial sense."
GGG: "but... but... but..."
Ward (cuts ggg off): "I thought you would fight anyone at 168?"
GGG: "Even though I cant draw more than you, the fight makes no financial sense."
GGG fans are getting worse than floyd fans.

I think team Triple Duck is somewhat delusional with respect to Golovkin's options. Right now, he only has one marquee fighter willing to fight him and that's Ward. Everyone else doesn't need Golovkin. Even Ward, whenever he gets his promotional issues sorted out, has options. Having said that, if I were Triple Duck's handlers, I'd keep him away from Ward. His best bet, IMO, is to keep away from 168 and keep knocking out TOMATO CANs until the Mayweather/Alvarez/Cotto situation sorts itself out.

Expectations for the telecast, however, were unrealistic. If the final numbers were in line with what event handlers expected, they should have mentioned that up front. Vowing the event to be the most viewed fight of 2014 - while perhaps intended hyperbole - suggests more was expected than what actually came of the show.
