I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but during big fights on HBO, there is very little commentary and recap before a fight, and when the fight is finished, just the quick recap and closing thoughts by Kellerman and Lampley..
With Showtime, they seem to spend significantly more time in the build up before the main event, talking boxing/interviewing boxers and after the fight spend more time in post-fight review.
Maybe it's just a different marketing strategy... But it seems like the only thing HBO even CARES to offer is showing the main event... little time on anything else. I'll still watch HBO because they have great fighters but I think Showtime gives you more your money's worth.
