    Fans of certain fighters

Scrolling through numerous threads on NSB, one can't help but notice a pattern. One guy starts a controversial topic, then flocks of posters come to either rescue their fighter, or to put down another person's favorite fighter. Then by page 3 or so, the thread has lost all context and becomes like every other thread.

I'm just wondering, what's the point of trying to convince other fans? Does it even work? Has there been anyone in the history of NSB that has been converted from one stance to another? Like say you were a fan of Pac's that, after seeing the posts of Floyd fans, decided that Floyd is better or vice versa? Or that you thought a certain fighter was ducking, then after seeing a thread or post, you decided that it was actually the other guy?

    Is there ANYONE?

Reasonable people can debate and reach a point where they agree to disagree. There are times when you get "new" information or a poster points out something that makes you think, even if you don't change your opinion totally.

Most people will not change their opinion and that's not a bad thing, so long as they are open to factual evidence that at least allows them to see things from another perspective.

Best advice is to just continue to seek out those posters and avoid those who log onto NSB to start wars because they have no one to talk to at home.

Sometimes you get interesting discussion and I love hearing the rare objective opinion of a fan but that is very rare. Most fans who enjoy watching Floyd seem to have the rep bar in the red.

alot of these fighter A hate threads aRe popping up because fighter B is fighting a horrible matchup in his next fight. Yes its bad but oh well its not the end of the world... Alot of these posters need to make these threads because deep down inside they know what the deal is. The threads help them to actually trick themselves into believing the madness they think...

Most poster never boxed , never been to a gym , never joined a gym.

Never trained a fighter or ran a gym.

Never been to a pro fight card or am card.
They just flipped the channels and saw a fight on HBO and or showtime
            Follow floyd (newbies)
And defend their fav fighter to the max.

Floyd fans feel like their undefeated too.

Most fans cant be a fan of pac and floyd they pick sides like morons and
Its a the blind lead the blind type thing.

In the 70s fights were scored differ from today.
You would be surprised about how cowardess most boxers really are.
And their Fans live in denial

Todays game is about most reward for least risk possible and let the best beat on each other and swoop in and clean up the leftovers.
Guys like floyd danny and most haymon fighters are a huge example

It's simply politics. If you smear a guy enough it can become fact. Example Matthysse fans were able to convince the population Danny was ducking him. Even after he's fought and already beat the guy. Floyd haters have said for years Floyd has ducked PAC even though Floyd has offered PAC the fight twice. If you scream loud enough the untruth can become true.

I never played professional football either, maybe I should stop following and discussing that sport.

Certain poster will degrade everything one fighter does and call certain acts cowardly but then do a complete 180 when the agenda favors their fighter. Some i thought were respectable unbiased posters have recently shown true colors.

Lol, you beat me to the pro football comparison. I could also use music as an example. I can't play an instrument, sing, or dance but I know a good musician when I see/hear one.
