  • Comments Thread For: Loeffler: No Question About Golovkin’s Chin Either

Gennady Golovkin’s reputation as a power puncher is clear — he’s knocked out 27 of his 30 opponents, including a third-round stoppage of Daniel Geale on Saturday night.

His promoter believes Golovkin can take just as well as he can dish.

“There’s no question about Gennady’s punching power, but there’s also, I think after tonight, no question about his chin,” Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions said at the post-fight press conference. [Click Here To Read More]

I still haven't seen him face a truely big puncher, but so far from what I have seen from ggg is that he appears to have a solid chin. He defense isn't the best nor his head movement so ggg does get caught in just about every fight, but he seems to walk thru them and drop his own bombs...

I am more concerned about his stamina and endurance.. He has yet to be taken into deep waters in a competitive fight.. No guarantee that he doesn't punch himself out after 7 or 8 rds and becomes highly vulnerable because if his lack of defense.. That's my major concern for ggg

The only puncher he's faced is Curtis Stevens

He can definitely take a punch...he got hit flush before KO'ing Geale.

In the few fights that went long he got stronger late. He was murdering Ouma, and throwing 100 punches a round late vs Stevens, who is a big puncher if nothing elze. Ask Dirrell

Those fights weren't competitive, I'm talking about a competitive fight

Geale wasn't the biggest puncher but he took his shots well. Taking that right hand while coming back with a right to put Geale down was impressive. Don't think I've ever seen that.

Ouma was his toughest most competitive fight and he was unloading late. I get your point though, but chances are his opponent will be in sad shape come the late rounds
