Is Quillin still being kept in place to give Canelo a belt? Or has that changed with the GBP turmoil?

If Canelo doesn't need Quillin there's no real point to protecting him anymore.

If not Alvarez, than Quillin can sacrifice to Mayweather or Lara or a number of other names.

That's why Quillin has that belt. If I were Oscar, I'd want Alvarez moving up to take Quillin's belt before I made Cotto/Alvarez. Quillin is a lamb to slaughter for someone to unify and take control of the division. If Oscar doesn't do it, Haymon would be glad to send one of his.
