Madison Square Garden, New York City - In a highly important career building showcase, Bryant Jennings beat Mike Perez on a split decision in a WBC heavyweight title eliminator over twelve rounds. The scores were 115-114 and 114-113 for the American and 114-113 for the previously undefeated Cuban. Jennings, from Philadelphia, remained undefeated and has won ten of his 19 professional fights by knockout. Perez, who fights out of Ireland, dropped to 20-1-1, with 12 wins inside the distance.
