In the Mosley/Vargas fight 9th round

Watching Mosley/Vargas again

There is a point 1:50 into the round where Mosley rips what I counted to be 4 quick and hard left hooks to the body of Vargas...all very fast like he used to do at lightweight

there were a couple of other speed points like the last 5 seconds of the 6th round also where Mosley ripped lefts and rights with speed and turning his body into just the way he used to do at lightweight and his best welterweight days

Even though they were in spurts, he showed he still does have good speed at the weight....unfortunately, being older, it most likely that he cannot fight like that throughout a fight...although vs Vargas, he was still ripping some nice combinations late into the fight after being tired out from all of Vargas' pressure...

I am glad Mosley before the fight recognized that he got to caught up in power shots (probably ever since his KOs at Welterweight since beating DLH and of course his lightweight KOs)...was nice to see him return to speed shots and letting the hard shots come when they come...

yes I am a Mosley fan, but this is not a Mosley VS Vargas post...just pointing out things I noticed about a favorite of mine...

I'll tell ya what I noticed: Manny Steward is one of my favorites and I deeply respect him but if you go back over the fights he's called, he doesn't like Shane as a fighter at all. To those who didn't see this fight, you will be surprised to hear Steward criticize Mosley for all ten rounds

Hmm I was under the impression that Manny liked Mosley. Maybe not.

Manny Steward is by far the worst expert commentator HBO has ever had....he's ALWAYS wrong, because he always tries to predict the outcome of the fight from the first round, and keeps changing his prediction as the fight goes on. I HATE THAT ****. I'm glad Larry Merchant was shutting his ass up during the Mosley-Vargas fight, he looked so angry after the fight.
