As a fight fan, would you rather have one, dominant kingpin who reigns for a generation in his weight class OR a weight class that is constantly competitive with the belt holder changing every year?

    Either..

If your gonna dominant then you better destroy guys like Tyson, ggg, kovolev.. If it's competitive then it better be like jmm-manny, morales-Barrera, Holyfield-bowe..

    Can't go wrong either way

Both but in a competitive weight division I'd prefer for the skill level to be as high as possible unlike today's crusierweight division for example.

The ideal would be a dominant champion who is challenged by opponents who beat everyone else in the division, building up to a big showdown and passing of the torch.

But as we know that's rarely the case. The dominant champion becomes a huge paycheck so everyone wants to minimize their odds of losing before fighting him, sits around fighting bums and and waits to get the big phonecall.

For that reason I prefer chaotic, up-for-grabs divisions.

If it's my favorite fighter, I like to see dominance. Otherwise give me a back and forth match.

This doesn't address the question I asked

ongoing competitiveness, but I'm always more impressed when one person is just THAT much more dominant. Rigo vs Donaire for example.

Depends. I enjoy brilliant one sided boxing performances, 1 sided destructions and competitive back and forth fights.

The only fights I can't watch is when one guy clearly shows up just to collect a check and stops trying to win.
