Comments Thread For: Geale Certain He Won't Go Out Like Macklin

NEW YORK – Daniel Geale fully understands that this is a dangerous, daunting assignment, unlike anything he has experienced in nearly 10 years as a professional prizefighter.

The soft-spoken, two-time former middleweight title-holder made at least one guarantee, though – he won’t go out like Matthew Macklin on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden.

The 33-year-old Geale (30-2, 16 KOs) can’t comprehend why England’s Macklin took such a passive approach to his blowout loss to knockout artist Gennady Golovkin last summer in Mashantucket, Conn.

Geale needs to shut up already. I swear, he's just been talking non-stop and is being an idiot.

I REALLY hope that this ends up like GGG-Macklin just so Geale feels like an idiot.

This could be a good fight, I'm going with the UD on this one. Geale with a close decision.

At least Macklin went down from a shot he couldn't get up from. Geale just said "**** it."

There was never a difference in class between the two. Geale, Macklin, Murray, Sturm, they're all the same level.

At least he didn't go out earlier than Macklin, that would have made this interview even more embarrassing.

As a fighter, you could be confident, but be careful what you say about your upcoming opponent's past wins. There's always that big chance you end up the same or do worst, then you look ******.
