The main difference between Floyd and Ali

Ali was simply the better fighter/boxer. Floyd is a master boxer/technician. However, even if he fought all the fighters people wanted him to, he still would not have been greater than Ali or SRR.

even as 'greatest' Ali struggled with many opponents as well. He got a few gift decisions and he certainly lost some close fights but that only speaks to his level of competition. It just goes to show you that no fighter no matter how great is unbeatable

Ali was a human punching bag?

A punching bag with an undisputed belt around it along with the adoration of much of the world? Do explain his lack of skill when he ruled the division with little true power in his punches.

If punching bags like him were hung up through out the world there would be a quick changing in the believe that bag work is good for a fighter.

He had a lot of heart, he was resourceful and what was then considered a great chin. And he always had great stamina by any standards. He was a champion.

But he was a punching bag. He got smashed from pillar to post in nearly all of his fights.

By comparison, Floyd never really gets hit much, so the statement is entirely valid.

I can understand love for Ali but "boxing skills" was not his strong suit.

As much as I hate Floyd, he has the skills!

I will slam Floyd personally any chance but comparing him to this calibre is outrageous.

A big slugger like Foreman, sure great show but the fella could barely even box and the other 2 are what today we'd regard as tomato cans. Fact.

You could say the same thing about Pacquiao (won the welterweight title at 145 and the jr middleweight title at 151). Different eras, fighters of the past had no choice but to fight the best, and there was still some handpicking here and there.
