Comments Thread For: Andy Lee Wants Shots at 154/160; Says Canelo’s Beatable

Andy Lee had just been in Madison Square Garden in New York City seven weeks beforehand on the undercard to Miguel Cotto’s middleweight championship win over Sergio Martinez. On that night, he got knocked down in the first round by John Jackson but was able to score a one-punch knockout out of nowhere in the fifth round.

Lee was back in the Big Apple to support Mike Perez, the unbeaten heavyweight from Cuba who fights out of Ireland. Lee, who is 30 years old and is 33-2 with 23 KOs, chatted briefly with BoxingScene.com on July 25. [Click Here To Read More]

Andy Lee was beaten convincingly by Jackson on his last fight and then came what I call a lucky punch...
IMO, he wouldn't stand a chance against Canelo.
And Quillin is not a big deal but he will beat convincingly Andy Lee.

Canelo would demolish Andy Lee. Quillin should as well.

Andy Lee would be Josesito Lopez 2.0, it would be nothing but a (poointless) showcase fight for Canelo. Nice try, Lee.

Not necessarily a lucky punch, more like a rookie mistake - Everyone knows Andy Lee can punch, you have to make sure he is not in position to land it, Jackson got too confident and went for the KO, Lee lulled him in to that shot, he didn't walk him into it, more of a lack of concentration on Jackson's part and Lee was in position...

Andy Lee has a shaky chin, but that's what makes him most dangerous, when someone suspects they've hurt him they'll charge in for the kill and ****! on the CHEN!

I have no problem in believing he has the power to KO Canelo or Quillin because his power is severely underrated.

Where I think things change are though is the skill level of Quillin and Canelo, they're not silly enough to do what Jackson did so that threat of him landing a KO blow is minimised massively.

              Of Course he is.

The only guy whom Ginger hasn't lost to in his last 4 fights was the rigged bullshit with journeyman Angulo.

Lee is horrible at 154.yea he has the reach, but he's so drained. His pinch output dropped and now maybe his ability I take a punch. This is just a ploy at a belt.... Andrade can end your dreams real quick
