World Boxing Council strawweight champion Osvaldo "Gallito" Novoa (14-4-1, 9KOs) of Mexico will defend his title for the second time, against the official challenger Wanheng Menayothin (35-0, 11KOs) of Thailand, in the last week of September in that country.

Novoa successfully defended his crown for the first time against Nicaraguan, Alcides Martinez by TKO in the 9th round.
