Another ****** comment coming from American's is claiming that this is the biggest super-middleweight fight since Toney-Jones Jr, lol! They still can't accept that Benn beat McClellan, so try to ignore this fight. It's ludicrous, Calzaghe/Lacy is clearly NOWHERE NEAR as big as Benn/McClellan was.

I remember all the American's were saying that Benn/McClellan was going to be "fight of the decade" before the fight, oh but only if the American won..

Alabama isn't California either, but I guarantee if it was a close fight the foreign fighter would be robbed here, in either state. Alabama's difference from California is so vast it HAS to be more different than Wales is from England.

toney was considered a legend of the ring back then, (and even now) roy jones was considered an aspiring invincible legend. both of these men were far more skilled than benn or mcclellan, benn vs mcclellan may have had more action in it, but that doesnt make it a bigger fight. the fight that mattered more was toney vs jones jr.

Toney/Jones really struggled to sell tickets, Benn/McClellan sold 12,000 in two days. There was more excitement in America for Benn/McClellan, because Benn and McClellan were far more exciting fighters and harder hitters than Jones or Toney.

As for the skill factor, what planet are you on? NOBODY was 'far' more skilled than Benn, and NOBODY was 'far' more skilled than McClellan. Benn is probably the most naturally talented fighter ever, his trainers in the Army say that he was showing world-class punching from angles in his very first training session. Benn at his best was in a class of his own. Manny Steward says that McClellan was the most talented fighter he ever had.

Your purely disrespectful because a British fighter won, it's all comes down to nationality and you know it.

Good post. its laughable to compare this fight to Benn & Mcclennan, ive seen no adverts on ITV for this fight between Calzaghe & Lacy. they arent known away from wales & america,

you're all wrong, you must've gotten punked by an american a few times in your life because you obviously have much bitterness & hatred towards our continent, if you don't consider toney and jones jr back then more skilled than either benn or mcclellan than you simply need to learn your craft. Oh, and ticket sales and PPV buys don't mean anything in terms of how big a fight is, if that was the case, wouldn't all of gatti's fights be 'the biggest fights'?

people from california are mostly *******, and they think they're much better than people down south, especially in a place like alabama. and mostly people from bama are ********** scum who put bush in office the 2nd time, because of this they're hated by the rest of the country who is against bush, even before that, people from up north hated people from the south. I don't expect you to know about the Civil war, but ill inform you, the north fought the south..there is still some separation between the two. Northerners think they're better than Southerners, and that southerners all have ****ed up teeth.
