WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (46-0, 26KOs) is not interested in trainer Robert Garcia's wager. Mayweather dared Garcia's fighter, Marcos Maidana (35-4, 31KOs), to bet his purse on their scheduled September 13th rematch.

Garcia offered to take that wager - if Mayweather allowed Maidana to wear the Everlast MX gloves. In a recent interview on BoxingScene.com, Garcia said Mayweather refused to shake his hand to make the bet official.

I don't understand why mayweather didn't just make the gloves a part of the contract. Obviously, he is the a side and can dictate the terms. I don't see why his management didn't insist on the gloves being in contract, especially when it was an issue in the first fight

If I were Floyd I'd be more worried about Maidana working with Victor Conte. He'll make up for the loss of the MX gloves.

not going to lie, the first pair looked really fishy and it did seem like it had no padding. However, if the 2nd pair were acceptable than Mayweather should have let Maidana wear them.
