    Toyko - Olympic middleweight gold medalist Ryota Murata of Japan will take on Adrian Luna, a Mexican middleweight champion, at the Yoyogi Daini Gymnasium on September 5. Teiken Promotions made the announcement today.

    Murata, 28, is a poised, hard puncher. He has a professional record of 4-0, 4 KOs, Luna, 24, is 17-2-1 with 11 KOs. The bout is scheduled for 10 rounds in the middleweight division.

    Murata won an Olympic gold medal at the 2012 London Games. He had an amateur record of 119-19. Murata's gold medal in boxing was the first for Japan since Takao Sakurai won in the bantamweight class in 1964.

    Interesting for 2 reasons

    1. Is this with Yaegashi/Roman?!

    2. He's either not fighting in Singapore or taking this fight before that... which I doubt.

      1-Yes, it's with the Yaegashi/Gonzalez and Inoue/Kokietgym fights...supercard much?

      2-With no firm details about the Singapore card I guess we can assume that's off. Just like the one that was apparently set to be held September 21st 2013.

        Good 5th fight for Murata. The Opponent will be tough because he is mexican Champion. Mexicans are always tough.
