Comments Thread For: Loeffler Predicts Golovkin-Geale Will Get Highest '14 Rating

HBO begins the second half of its 2014 boxing season with its biggest non-Pay-Per-View star in the headliner, as Gennady Golovkin returns to the network and to New York for a middleweight title defense versus former champ Daniel Geale.

The bout takes place this Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Golovkin’s first appearance in the main room after three fights in the accompanying Theatre venue in 2013. In the evening’s co-feature, unbeaten heavyweights Bryant Jennings and Mike Perez collide in a title eliminator bout rescheduled from this past May.

I buy it, there is no NFL, no NBA, no soccer, I am not sure what's on TV, the Yankees are playing at lunch time.

They should get the highest ratings.

nfl isn't on Saturdays, soccer is over by the time the main fight would start and nba games do start on the west coast around seven,so maybe just nba,but even so,others have fought during nba season and still done good in the ratings,we can just compare his ratings to other fights that happened in the summer too

Geale WAS in a FOTY candidate vs Barker so it could happen. Only bad thing about it is that he's been out of the scene a while.

Not surprising this is the best main event fight for free this year on HBO or Sho shows how weak of a year it's been.
