Comments Thread For: Rigondeaux Signed To Caribe, Looking For Co-Promoter

    By Ryan Burton

As has been reported many times over, WBA/WBO super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux's co-promotional agreement with Top Rank expired after his first round knockout of Sod Kokietgym on Saturday evening in Macau.

Contrary to various media reports, the two-time Olympic gold medalist is however still under contract with Caribe Promotions.

BoxingScene.com was contacted by Caribe Promotions Vice President Louis Fonseca and Caribe Promotions lawyer Jared Lopez to clarify their position with Rigondeaux and to make it known that they are open to listening to offers to co-promote the talented Cuban.

LMAO...somehow this will be Arum's fault to. lol. These mofo's sound like they don't let the offers come to rigo directly everything has to go through them first and they take it to him. This is about to get hella interesting and somehow Bad Ole Bob will be at fault.

No one will make you an offer to co-promote Caribe..you don't have to worry about that. This guy in-ring style is like having HIV...no promoter wants to be infected.

El Chacal career is finished as it should be, he may be one of the best technical fighters in boxing but he is also the most unwatchable.

R.I.P El Chacel.....we never cared about you anyway.

Rigo needs to be a free agent like cotto is. Sign a 2 or 3 fight deal and thats it. If boxers did that there wouldnt be no "cold war" in boxing.

Most unwatchable? You must not like boxing then. 14 wins 9 kos. Its not Rigo's fault he's that much superior.

Caribe Promotions: "We're leeches. We don't actually do anything so it's why we need a co-promoter. We'll blame Bob for his marketing all while doing shit all."

There's a reason fighters sign contracts and only certain top fighters could do what cotto is doing now.

You think rigo would have a 500K guarantee without a contract?
