I think the real issue is the lack of his competition.. no matter what weight he is fighting at.
Yeah, by reading your comment, I understand you started following GGG's career since 2012 if not later. GGG had a terrible experience of being mismanaged by Universum and getting ignored for 8 years before getting on HBO, and those ducks from the top middleweights are well documented, just do your research.

I'm saying what it is- Geale is top 5 in the division, he would indeed be a good win, and an impressive victory for Golovkin would be a good start to his "resume"

Anytime you beat a top 5 fighter, it's solid no matter what
I'd be willing to call Geale top 3 in the division myself. His only loss in the past 5 years is questionable.

I agree. But he obviously can't just go on and fight James Kirkland next or something like that

He has to keep the momentum going, and his team needs to contiune to get him fights like this. A unification fight.... or ideally a shot at Cotto would be going in the right direciton

So the past 10 years he has been promoted badly? But Ward hasn't? Ironic how Ward has ZERO fans and beaten better opposition.. but GGG is soooo popular but hasn't really beaten anybody? Don't get me wrong.. I like GGG and I like this fight.. I just think he needs to step up the level of competition after this. Interesting as well... GGG is soo popular.. but this is his first fight at the Real Madison Square Garden.. he has been fighting at the small building in the Garden.

Ward is used to calling the shots, but Golovkin and Team are riding a wave right now of popularity, and with that popularity will come arrogance. They will want to call the shots.

I will come out and say this fight will not happen, until one of them loses to someone else first. It is how the boxing world rolls now.
i think the geale numbers will likely confirm golovkin as the bigger draw than andre ward, which means if ward really wants the fight he'll have to make concessions.

I say fight Ward at 68... win, lose or draw... he really don't lose.. or make Canelo come up to 160.. or at a catchweight between 54-60... we all know Canelo cant make 54 anymore anyways... that would be a interesting fight.

Ward is delusional.. trust me I aint taking sides on that one.. hes ******ed.. doesn't like to leave Oakland and I still don't forgive him for making Dawson come down to 68 to fight him.. that was a $%$%$%$ move.

The Geale fight is not on pay per view correct? I wonder how many tixs have been sold for this fight? His first fight in the big building.. I will def check him out next time he fights at the Garden.

Looks like GGG is changing his words. Let's see if being a liar or a hypocrite makes people dislike him since those are the reasons they cite for disliking other fighters.
