@ 3:12 the spanish analyst says "Chavez, a converted lefty...."

Ha. Never knew that. His right hand was serious too.

Had no idea. No wonder that left hook to the body was so lethal.

Yeah he signs autographs with his right hand but I don't put to much in that because I'm left handed and write with my right thank to my grandmother's old school way of thinking as well as my 2 cousins and come to think of it chavez did use his right lead a lot that was punishing but it was really used to set up the left

I wonder if he would have been a better fighter out of the southpaw stance.

I don't think he would've gone forward as much. Most people with their dominant hand out front are aggressive come forward fighters from what I've seen. (Of course not all)

It really did suit his style fighting with dominant hand out front. He'd probably be more of a boxer-puncher fighting as a southpaw. Definitely wouldn't have been as dominant.

He probably would've been more tame in my opinion definitely. He might've still been a good boxer but he really honed some amazing boxing skills by having a come forward style. I forgot which fight it was but I remember one fight showed his opponents fight statistics against him and everybody that fought him had the lowest connect percentage of their careers on him compared to other fighters. Too bad he's seen asjust a brawler by some because he had some ridiculous boxing skill on the out, mid and inside ranges.

He was highly skilled make no mistake about it. His defense is often overshadowed as well but he rarely got hit cleanly in his prime. He did a good job of rolling with the punches and his waist movement was impressive.

Considering he was coming forward all night long his defense was great. Just an all around great, and his style really did suit his skills to perfection .
