Cotto at 154 was a big threat so was Canelo prior to the fight so was Oscar at 154 , whenever you give a world class fighters 20 lbs in weight its a big threat , funny thing is I think Manny will be an easy fight for him , Floyd doesnt get to fight guys that are little smaller than him on fight night too often when he does he toys with them .

It's not like there's a ton of legitimate threats out there. The consensus is that there has been a handful of fighters that Floyd has avoided. The high profile ones are obviously Margarito, Cotto and Pacquiao.

No cotto @ 154 wasn't. No Oscar@ 154 wasn't. Both of them were quite shopworn by the time floyd fought them. Alvarez nowhere near the level experiencewise and an easy points win moneygrab.. After Hatton it was all low risk high reward imo.

Canelo and Cotto were the two top rated guys at 154 and he beat both

fought Only 6 fights above 135 and went on to beat ODLH at 154, where ODLH picked the ring size, gloves, and weight class

Mosley was he highest rated welterweight and he dominated him....Maidana is/was top ten and beat him....so was Guerrero

Judah and Baldomir were the two top rated guys when he first won the title at 147

He dont hold two of the 3 main belts for no reason (in two weight classes at the same damn time)...he is fighting better competition than his peers.

So tell me who are these fighters and threats he is avoiding?

              Cotto? beat him already
Lara? just lost to Canelo who Mayweather dominated
              Thurman is highly unproven
Floyd could have fought someone better each and every time he cherry picked someone.

BTW - Canelo has gained more experience since his Floyd fight. If he was fighting Lara last year, he would have tried to "out-box" Lara ....so he learned something from the Floyd fight ..... but Canelo is still flat-footed fighter and it showed because he had a hard time landing against Lara.

Also, styles makes fights. I'm sure that Floyd would have a hard time with Lara too if not harder since Lara would not be as concerned about Floyd's punches as he was with Canelo.

Oh, why didn't you mention that Floyd tried to drain Canelo with the 152 CW? Why didn't you bring up the fact that both Canelo and Floyd had a belt at 154 so the CW request was very shameful?

Oh, I know why, for you, CWs are good for Floyd, bad for anyone else especially Manny .... got it.

Cotto was coming of a winning streak at 154 , Cotto actually PROVED in the fight he was a real threat , and has now just won the MW title further showing he is a great fighter , Manny point blank refused to fight the Cotto Floyd fought you would think having beaton him with ease at a 145 CW he would not have been worried to allow Cotto his 154 , hind sight is 20/20 vision how can Cotto not have been a dangerous fight for Floyd , and Floyd gave him 20lbs in weight on the night .
