What about Eddie Chambers? I know they're stablemates, but surely he's ready to fight.

So had Spinks when he faced Ali. Gold medal too. And Fury is no Ali. Fury-Joshua right now is 50/50.

Both have poor chins. First to land something telling would win.

        Still, too soon for AJ.

You're talking about extreme examples plus there are a million other reasons why the fight can't happen from rival promoters to money to time etc etc etc.

And no, Joshua hasn't done anything to suggest he's a 50/50 shot against Fury.

I'll come clean - I'm not being serious. But at this point I'd rather wish for something mind-blowing to be arranged, than Fury not fighting at all or having to face another useless stand-in. Joshua was the first name that came to mind, for all sorts of reasons.

It's not so much Joshua having exceptional attributes, but more Fury's vulnerability to being stunned, staggered and dropped - all the way since the Firtha fight. Firtha gave him a good scare, then Pajkic and Cunningham dropped him hard, and even against Abell he had some very hairy moments in there. I think even at this early stage, Joshua is patient enough to exploit stuff like that... at least until Fury overpowers and stops him late.

What you're suggesting is akin to Maidana pulling out on fight week and Pacquaio stepping in as a replacement.

There's literally a fück ton of reasons why that scenario just wouldn't happen.

I have my concerns about what might happen when Joshua gets hit by someone who's going to fight back. I don't think his defence is the best.
