golovking's resume is better although not by much. if he beats geale it will be much better. golovking always destroys his opponents while quillin usually looks terrible. golovking is willing to and has tried to fight every relevant middleweight. quillin is scared to fight danny jacobs? da fuk...

Real talk, who here knew who the hell GGG was until his scheduled fight with Proska in late 2012? it was an impressive performance no doubt but then this causes a frenzy when people hear the hype from the fanboy HBO crew, then fans check his record on BoxRec and see he has an impressive knockout ratio but they ignore the nobodies on the resume beside Proska, that my friends is the chain of events which cause HYPEEEE.

Peter Quillin by no means has the most amazing resume but this is my point about GGG being so highly hyped despite not having an amazing resume.

      Gennady Golovkin's notable wins: -Proska

      -Rosado

      -Macklin

      -Stevens

Peter Quillin's notable wins: - Ronald Wright*

      - N'Dam

      - Guerrero

      - Rosado

      *(past his best I know)

As you can see there really isn't a major difference win you take into account the difference in praise. Stevens is a solid contender and a good win for Golovkin although do you see Jesse Brinkley or Marcos Primera get the praise GGG gets? After all, they did beat Stevens before him. In other words, it was a good win but nothing special.

Peter Quillin defeated the tough champion Hassan N'dam when he was undefeated, knocking him down 6 times in the process. This is a more impressive win than anything on Golovkin's resume. Yeah sure Macklin is a good win but it's similar to the Curtis Stevens win, it's already been achieved by Jamie Moore and Andrew Facey so it's nothing special and shouldn't be such a hyped win, not to mention champions at the time like Martinez and Sturm had defeated him BEFORE Golovkin.

That leave Rosado who Golovkin did get to first, another solid win from Golovkin but nothing special when you consider the hype to quality of opponent ratio.
To be honest the only major difference I have seen between them is that peter has looked terrible a couple times now and GGG has not looked bad once, plus the way he finishes opponents is noticeable as opposed to peter but it would be a good fight between them since peter is a boxer and a good one at his weight.

GGG has KOed something like his last 16 guys in a row. Quillin struggles to beat fighters GGG would KO with ease. There is no comparison between these two fighters and how good they are or what they have done. GGG is a better fighter and he has a better record. All the ranking bodies, Ring, Boxing Scene, Boxrec etc. have GGG #1 and ahead of Quillin. If they fought Quillin would be a big underdog.

But GGG never had to go life and death with anyone where as Quillin goes life and death with everyone and GGG stops him if they fought.

If you mean at being a janitor or cab driver then yes, Quillin does have a better resume than Golovkin.

Reading some of these posts, I think people are confusing who is better with their resumes..

Their resumes and level of competition is very similar, the only difference is ggg dominates and is a better fighter.. But in terms of actual resume, they are about the same

Come on man, if you aren't a celebrity and your half white you are nearly an outcast. But, if you are a celebrity or the President of the United States you are all black, the white side doesn't even exist.

They say the giraffe used to be a normal horse until GGG gave one an uppercut.

But seriously it's about even as far as names, but GGG has been more dominant and has come across as more open to all challengers which is why he gets more love.
