I'd have to think that's related to the market. Just look at the trend -- PPV's have been steadily falling. And was anyone expecting Cotto to look that spectacular? Guarantee his stock gets a boost off that performance.

you put chavez jr vs lara and tell me it does good numbers...
good thing is after the marathon lara will never be on ppv again...
What's your excuse for it doing more than Cotto vs Martinez?

And why are you getting so defensive? Like I said in the other thread, the truth hurts doesn't it? Excuses are like *******s, everyone has one and you my friend, seem to have plenty of them.

it does. hbo definitely distributes a fight better than SHO. i prefer their production to SHO's, at least although SHO have the better announcers.

That may have been the case in the past but I'm not sure it is now. Showtime's marketing for boxing is pretty solid lately.

Thst could be one reason. But my whole argument still stands. No one say Canelo with certainty. Like some people are doing here "Canelo for sure."

Canelo keeps winning and is more active. The fact that he was on a PPV with a nobody like Lara speaks volumes. Give Chavez a similar opponent and I bet it's on network TV.

a lara fan talks about excuses, anyways im not comparing cotto to chavez, im comparing chavez to canelo, but to be fair with cotto all boxers took a hit on ppvs this year, having so many in one year it really hurted(pac, cotto, floyd, canelo, etc)...
again you put lara-chavez on ppv and tell me it does more than 300k...
300k generates a good profit, if arum knew he could make money off chavez he will have more ppvs already, there is a reason why chavez-vera wasnt a ppv, neither the rematch...

Canelo/Cotto for sure and I also think that could crack 1 million buys, it's a big fight. I'd still rather see Cotto/Floyd, but if it's between Chavez and Canelo I'd rather see Cotto fight Alvarez. Even at 160 I think Chavez Jr might be too big for Cotto but Freddie must know something if he is considering that fight, Cotto has stated it's really up to Freddie after they get down to 2 or 3 opponents.

Yea Freddy knows what Jr had to go through to make 160. Last time Jr made 160 was 2012 and his last 2 fights were at light heavyweight and super middle. Freddy knows what's up. No way a drained zombie Jr beats Cotto, imo.

No interest in Cotto vs Cruiserweight Jr. Bring on Cotto vs Canelo! That's the fight we all wanna see.
