I was actually impressed by Gesta and Shiming this past week

I've been highly critical of both these guys, but I hate to say it I was actually impressed with both of them this past week.

I still consider Gesta a scrub, but he impressed me with his boxing ability, he was actually boxing and moving and using angles not just standing there and waiting for his opponent to come at him and counter.

Zou Shiming also developed into a boxer, I guess he realized he is not going to be Pacquiao stylistically and try to knock out and blitz guys out, before he was just throwing a lot of punches and being super aggressive but not even able to hurt hte guys with like 10 flush punches landing.

Shiming boxed very well, he was picking his punches and not getting reckless at least now he knows he will never be a KO artist and knows he is a point boxer and is focusing more on hit and not get hit style which suits him more it might not be exciting but its closer to his comfort.

I would like to see Gesta in with someone better to see if his new skills are legit. I know Shiming is going for a title in his next fight so he is stepping up already.

    What did you guys think?

If Gesta had a real team behind he would've been a good fighter. You can see glimpses of it. He's exciting and athletically gifted too.

Too bad he wont dump his dad and get a real trainer.

Gesta looked good, his defense really has developed, head movement, angles and just overall boxing ability is much better. I was surprised when he boxed orthodox in the first round, he looked good doing so as well. Wonder what that was about though?

Shiming is getting better, haters will hate though. He had De La Rosa a bloody mess

What is weird is he wasn't trained by his father for the Vazquez fight it was vincent parra, they came with the wrong gameplan remember he was the one yelling at Miguell to fight them like a man and not run lol. Miguel runs its a known fact so you know he is not going to fight you toe to toe that was a horrible plan.

Gesta did look good but he looks like he's imitating PAC a lot lol IMO. Like the straight lead left and step aside after that and a few more move he does that is a cheap copy of manny. He did look a lot better though and I agree he needs to ditch his pops and go hook up with roach lol.

Yeah, he did the poor mans version of Manny his lead left is not snappy though lol. Pacman throws that lead left and step aside on bigger guys so beautifully.

Gesta just needs to work more on his stamina, and like you said maybe he should get with Roach? Problem is he used to train at Wild Card and Roach dissed Gesta and said he wasnt even worth training because he floats on his toes and doesn;t sit on his shots or something.

Maybe he should train with Marvin then, IMO doe Roach and Gesta would be perfect.

He has it, just needs a proper trainer.

Was it? Either way, he needs to find himself a good trainer. And it wasnt just the gameplan. He just didnt know how to cut the damn ring off.

He's been doing that since before Vazquez.

Bro, I'm on the fence about this performance. He shows better movement from what I've seen from him. His right hand is strong and he can pull off some nice counters when his opponent is coming forward. He was actually moving his head but his upper body movement was a bit off. I noticed he either leans back and is susceptible to body punches or ducks down and leans to the sides… which can cause him serious problems against a fighter who will feint him and lead him into a hook that he walks into himself. His hands are also too damn low throughout and he was getting getting touched up by Arceo enough that any fighter with actual power could possibly chin check him easily. All that said, he looks pretty good, like everyone says if he gets an actual corner soon, he will improve enough to possibly acquire a belt or at least give a performance his fans expect from him.
