Was it an accumulation of tough fights that led to his current condition or was it one specific fight that really did the damage? It's crazy to think that this was one of the greatest defensive fighters of all time.

Sad that these guys end up like this. You could also add Gerald McClellan and Wilfredo Gomez to the list.

A few years ago, they had an article on Boxingscene that showed Wilfredo being visited by a few young Puerto Rican boxers. A fund had been set up to help him. I don't know anything else about it, but he obviously wasn't completely forgotten. Lots of folks are bypassed by society. Wilfredo is lucky that at least he's enjoyed some attention.
