JCC is beloved but its hard to argue him beating better comp and NUMBERS

JCC is a great fighter and since Mayweather is the best fighter in the world today, the press and fans compare him to past p4p greats

JCC had over 100 fights, 30+ title fights and beat like 14 champions and titlist

Mayweather has fought less than half as many fights, won more lineal titles, beat more champions and titlists.

JCC is great, great fighter but Mayweather did more and is a better fighter and would beat JCC head to head IMO

Do the champions Chavez faced (and defeated) beat Floyd's WHEN Floyd faced them?

    There you go.

Floyd wont ever face guys as good as Taylor or Pernell...

You can only fight who is available in your era

Meldrick Taylor got screwed and Mosley, DLH, Castillo, Corrales were more proven and better than Taylor who is overrated

Pernell Whitaker is an ATG but he made JCC look pretty foolish and got dominated on the inside

besides 140 Mayweather defeated the top guys at each weight in his era

        130...genaro Hernandez, Corrales

        135...Castillo 2x

        147...Judah, Mosley

        154, ODLH, COTTO, Canelo

Mayweather beat guys that would trouble JCC or defeat him as well

Why? because his last name is Mayweather?

Roger and Floyd are two different fighters

Mayweather has all the attributes that trouble JCC....look at it this way, Mayweather at 130-140 had defense near as good as whitaker, was more accurate than Taylor just as fast and hit harder than both...also had better footwork and movement

I disagree with Ya and dont start with Castillo who fights totally different than JCC...he is taller, better jab and had less problems with pure boxers and movers

You think any of those guys beat Chavez when Floyd fought them? I'll take a Camacho win or Meldrick win (screwed? He got KOd)

JCC was no machine or unbeatable....got outboxed by Whitaker, Taylor and could have lost to Juan LaPorte in a close fight, Frankie Randall dropped and outboxed him.

Hell Yea...ODLH past prime at 154 would brutalise JCC

Cotto, Canelo have a shot at any version of JCC i guess catchweights would be used

              Camacho was avoided by Chavez

Camacho was not in his prime or near his form of the mid 80's....hell he lost to wholly average greg haugen prior to the loss to JCC

Meldrick got caught late, yes he took some damage but based on rounds it was like 9-3, 10-2 type fight no closer than 8-4 in Taylor's favor.

2 seconds left if steele didnt stop it, for sure UD for TAYLOR.

I agree with most of what you've said but by that extension, Mayweather was in many eyes beat by Chavez lite in Castillo and has taken the most "damage" in Chavez type fighters (Cotto gave him some isssues even at a less than optimal class). If we're being honest, thats what castillo is and to a lesser extent Cotto. Cotto wouldn't stand a chance against Chavez. Lets be real. What Cotto does well Chavez does better while having the intangibles in spades in terms of durability/ toughness, heart, and better defensive instincts.

It doesnt matter if Meldrick was winning, he got stopped it's bot the refs job to keep him in the fight if he cant continue.
I really feel Floyd is an ATG but styles make fights.

styles do make fights, i just feel mayweather will adjust better to JJC's style than the other way around....how many times do they come in with the same game plan, rough him up, go for the ko, just to fall short, whereas prime and past prime JCC struggled or lost to faster longer fighters like Randall, ODLH, Whitaker, Taylor
