Zolani Tete won the IBF super flyweight title by beating Teiru Kino****a in Japan on Friday.

The South African won the bout in Kobe by unanimous decision. An American judge, Chris Flores, and South African Deon Dwarte both scored it 118-110 and Japan's Katsuhiko Nakamura called it 119-109.

There were no knockdowns in the 12-round bout between two southpaws. Tete, the IBS’s top contender, kept sixth-ranked Kino****a at bay with sharp left jabs, using his 11cm reach advantage.

That's generally the result when you put a fighter with a soft punch against a monstrous boxer-puncher, a loss for the weaker hands since he can't possibly keep his opponent honest. Zolani is a good champion and I'm sure he will be having many good defences. His fight with Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr is worth a watch from anyone willing to endure an all out barnburner with high intensity and plenty of drama.

I read Tete will face McJoe Arroyo on his first defence, this would be a true test for the twin. Both siblings are being lined up to be catapulted to champion status, let's see if they can both pull it off. Marquez can **** but he wasn't himself lately, however I think Arroyo has a high possibility at snatching the belt from Tete. 115 is getting filled with gunslingers.
