WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr (46-0, 26KOs) has been very, very vocal about the rough tactics of Marcos Maidana (35-4, 31KOs) in their May fight, which Mayweather won with a twelve round majority decision.

Mayweather claims Maidana was using his head, elbows, knees, forearms, and throwing illegal punches to the back of head and below the belt. He also alleges that Maidana attempted to wear gloves that were manipulated to have very little padding around the knuckles. Because Mayweather refused to move forward if Maidana used the Everlast MX gloves, the Argentine puncher was forced to select another style of gloves from Everlast.

Floyd's demands:

Maidana can only use goose feathered pillows taped to his fist.

Maidana has to wear black trunks to not distract Mayweather.

Maidana can only wear Nike socks.

Maidana's mouth guard has to be white for a better target for Mayweather.

Maidana cannot clinch, hold, or punch until Mayweather is comfortable and in position to defend.

Maidana has to also be blindfolded from rounds 2-6.

Basically Floyd is so dominant, that now people have given up on anyone ever beating him in a legal boxing match, that its ok to cheat in order to actually beat him. Dominant! Maidana needs his magic gloves, to be more accurate. Its obvious that Maidana doesnt have legit power without his Magic gloves, which is why he neeeeeds them so bad, he knees, and rabbit punches his corner is urging him not to land more, throw more hooks, their direction is to fight dirty. lol

Mayweather is being a little overboard on this issue but, once again, his premise is correct. Is what he saying that bad? Funny how the reactions are similar to when he brought up random testing.

TBE needs to realise that not every fighter is going to just follow about and take right hands and jabs to the head, I like the fact that Maidana took TBE out of his comfrot zone and rough him up a bit.

I'm not a Maidana fan, nor a Floyd hater, but I love it -- love it -- when someone refuses to bow down to any kind of bullshit. I was just looking at the ESPN website and saw the shoving match between these two guys. I have to say, I got a kick out of it. And I love that Chino made the first move. Like I said, I'm not a Floyd hater, but fuuuuck him!

Mayweather's demands are ridiculous. You can look at Maidana's first professional fight and you'll see he was the same rough and tumble fighter fighter he is today.

Also, some of the best fighters in history were dirty. Roberto Duran, Harry Greb, Basilio, Fullmer, Hopkins, etc.

If Mayweather can't handle a rugged and border line dirty fighter than he should have fought someone else.

But a real man would say f*#& it, I am gonna fight Maidana and knock him out. I am going to be faster and stronger and whoop him.

That is what Sugar Ray Leonard did with Duran in their second fight.

But no, Mayweather instead wants to put pillows on Maidana's hands and essentially is begging Maidana's team to not be too aggressive and make the fight easier for Floyd. WOW.
