Mayweather really needs to shut his mouth he saying they remove the padding I guess Everlast needs to step up and respond as far as I can tell Chino had nothing to do with the gloves.

Ah this is an intersting post. It's definitely been in my mind for a while since the first fight and the facts.

To be clear - what are the facts in the glove issue to date. (Too busy to research) weren't they approved by the Nevada Athletic Commission?

Garcia claims they were "Mayweather elected gloves" and they weren't tampered with? Is this correct?

If Nevada approved gloves' quality (i.e., no padding in gloves) is being questioned then I don't think it's an argument to be sued over in a civil case and it's just bad publicity in part of Everlast.

That being said, If Mayweather went out and said, "Everlast makes crappy gloves and everyone should stop buying/supporting them", without substantive proof, then that is defamation and Everlast may have case against Mayweather in a defamation suit.

What's more interesting is Maidana and his persona.

Is his persona being attacked considering the facts that (If true) Nevada DID approve use of those gloves (i.e., checked them prior to use). Mayweather has already made public statements likening Maidana (and camp) to Resto and Margarito (proven cheats of the sports), furthermore he's reportedly said that Maidana has been KOing cats with unpadded gloves. In that case, post-Nevada approval (publicy), Maidana is being slandered and defamed unless there is evidence that supports that the gloves were tampered with.

It's starting to sound like Pacquiao and the steriod allegation.

These are more thoughts if anything, but like to discuss.

everlast is an ATG and legendary boxing equipment manufacturer. floyd is an ATG and legendary diva.
