NEW YORK – Marcos Maidana is thankful that a large enough faction of consumers considered his May 3 fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. competitive enough to warrant a Sept. 13 rematch at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Without them, in addition to Mayweather’s reluctance to consider certain opponents, Argentina’s Maidana is well aware he wouldn’t have received another seven-figure opportunity to dethrone boxing’s pound-for-pound king.

Best comment so far. Too bad Maidana is so clueless, he thinks he is getting the same exact fight as the first one. Is it even funnier that he says he is doing it for the fans whereas the same fans have been begging for a Pacquiao fight for the last 5 years and that hasn't materialized.
