So he certainly isnt a mini tyson.

that said I think he'll give Joe a real hard fight on Saturday, and I'm starting to think he may even win. But I think its gonna be a lot tougher than most people think, and I think there'll be a rematch in the states
It will be tough for whoever wins. Calzaghe looked sensational against Eubank but that was nearly ten years ago. Lacy has looked sensational 4 months ago and has done nearly everytime out against some very good fighters. If lacy wins, he is the real deal. But if Calzaghe wins there can be no excuses because Lacy is the real deal right? But i am sure if joe wins they`ll be people running it down claiming lacy was this and that, limited etc... I kinda want Joe to win just to survey the reaction on this site!

I disagree with that, unless Calzaghe wins a controversial decision. I see it the other way. Calzaghe fans, and JuyJuy, will say Joe was past his prime, and that in his prime he would've KO'd Lacy. I'm a big Lacy fan, and if he loses a bull**** decision, then I'll be bitchin' and rantin' on here, but if Calzaghe wins clearly, I will pay him the respect he's due. If Calzaghe wins, he goes down as a great champ in my eyes, even with the lack of competition thus far in his reign. I think Lacy will win, but it won't be easy.

I think Lacy will hurt Joe early and often, Joe has no defence and is not smart enough to box him. Plus Joe is weight-drained, washed-up, etc. Lacy TKO1, I'm afraid.

EXACTLY. these people that dont know anything about jeff keep talking about hte "hometown advantage" , lacy LOVES to fight away from his hometown, in fact, the only reason he fought in florida against pemberton is b/c it was a last second fight after calzaghe pulled out. no one in this fight can have an impact besides Joe Calzaghe and Jeff Lacy.

Jeff Lacy is younger, much harder hitting, more hungry, and definitly less prone to injury.

But, he is going into a foreign country wear the crowds, and the ref??? and the judges??? may be against him.

Joe Calzag is an excellent boxer, he hasn't lost since before Jeff Lacy was born, and he gets to fight on his home turf.

But, he is extremly prone to injury, and he is getting old.

But what really matters in this fight..... is...... the beards. And I don't mean ability to take a punch. I mean facial hair. From Joe's facial hair stubble you can tell that he is going in with a little bit of attitude but its under control.

Jeff Lacy's facial hair is wild, out of control and that is the style that he will go into the ring with.

This fight will look alot like Wlad vs Sam Peter did last year. Look for Joe to shave lacy in a close decison over 12 rounds. Many will cry robbery, Joe will retire without giving a rematch and Lacy will go on to dominate the divison for quite some time.
well for anyone who box's will know yeah it is harder to fight not on your own turf , but lacy got outboxed tht night and theres nothing else to it really lol

Lacy was outboxed, extremely! Joe put on one of the best performances of his career, and Jeff showed how much he needs to improve on technique. He wasnt jabbing and setting up his shots...his footwork wasnt that great, etc. Although I disliked Joes method of tying him up every time he came in close, I have to admit he gave Jeff a boxing lesson. At this stage in Jeffs career, the most important thing is that he learn from this loss, and he talked (in the post fight interview) like he had done just that. Everything he said was right, and the same as what kept going thru my mind in the last few rds...that he had definately blown it, but if he simply learned from it, it wasnt the disaster it seemed at the moment. Jeff has got alot of work in the gym to do after his break, no doubt. Props to Joe for a great fight.
Lol, gotta love how the ref. waited until the 11th freaking rd. to take a pt. from Joe for all the holding Like it was going to make a difference at that point, or encourage Joe to quit doing it.
