they've had big ppvs in dec before. hatton/mayweather. dlh/pac. arum knows pac/aligeri aint doing no numbers. this fight would sell no matter when it is.

But this fight has serious earning potential. Even if we ignore the Mex/PR rivalry on cinco de Mayo.... there has been just too many PPV's this year... August might be the last month without a PPV this year.

Floyd/Maidana II in September
Possible JCC Jr/GGG in October
Pac in November

Cotto probably fighting in December regardless, but this fight is just bigger if they make it out this year.

I'd watch it this year, but I understand why they wouldn't make it this year.

Canelo vs cotto has to happen now. On cinco de mayo next year. Its the biggest fight in boxing that can possibly be made take it to the alamodome and sell out 40,000.

I didn't bother reading the whole article cuz I can't stand or believe anything that comes out of arums mouth but do they even need arum, isn't cotto a free agent?

Yea... but there's going to be 8 PPV's for sure this year... 9 or 10 if GGG/Chavez Jr is made and Canelo/TBA is made on PPV.... that doesn't happen very often.

Possible they can lose their next fight...but who knows could be soft touches.

1. why make it in December...at the end of the year after all those other PPVs drained this PPV of potential buys
2. Mexican Holiday.....Mex/PR rivalry...makes too much sense

I think we will get cotto-Bradley and canelo vs Kirkland, and then we will get canelo/cotto

This is a look good fight for Pacquaio and I think Floyd is going to box Maidana all night this time around to also look better. Watch for the Pacquaio vs Mayweather fight May 2015. No other reason I can think of for "the big surprise next may" and their choice of opponents for the fall. You don't see arum bad mouthing floyd or vice versa. Them mofo's been quite lately about each other. Call me crazy but i'ma go with that.

I don't buy this at all. Otherwise, why is Arum talking about doing Cotto/Canelo in May? If Floyd/Manny was even in the picture for that month, they wouldn't be talking about Cotto/Canelo for around that time. I'm just so frustrated with the sport at the moment. They're going to screw this up and let one of these guys lose before we even get to see Cotto take on Canelo, which would be the biggest fight of the year. All because of greed.
