          • Re-scored Provo-Algieri last night

            R.1 - Provo (10-7)
            R.2 - Algieri
            R.3 - Provo
            R.4 - Even
            R.5 - Algieri
            R.6 - Provo
            R.7 - Provo (close)
            R.8 - Algieri
            R.9 - Algieri (close)
            R.10 - Even
            R.11 - Provo (close)
            R.12 - Provo

            116-112 Provodnikov
6-4 Provo in rounds, w/two even.

I read somewhere Algieri would have had to have 8 rounds to have won the fight after the k/ds. He didn't do that, and added to the shape of Algieri's face, eye wrecked and nose bleeding there's no way I could say he won the fight. You'd have had to give absolutely everything to him.

Couple of things about the fight which may be a factor in a Pacquiao fight is Algieri never stops moving, he appears to have the movement for 12 rounds, and the other thing is he fought Provo in a small 18ft ring, he'll likely have much more room to move at the weekend.

                • If Pacquiao doesn't stop Algieri then I don't want to see Pacquiao-Mayweather. This is a fight that Pacquiao needs to looks impressive. I dont want to see any threads about how beautiful Pacquiao boxing was against a kick boxer that had no right to be there.

Hmmm... I'll say I saw the fight twice, and it's been a while, but I must have scored most of those even or close rounds for Algieri. My thought at the time was, "It'll be interesting with the KDs", and that Provo looked awful for a lot of rounds, so Algieri winning didn't seem like a bad outcome. I'll probably re-watch that fight tomorrow in the run up to the PPV.

With that being said, I think that if Pac is to KO anybody before he retires it will be this guy. Yeah, OK, Algieri is tall and fast, but he's no Bradley skills and work wise, and he's no JMM power and craft wise, and Provo was hitting him. Also, the weight is a little more favourable for Manny this time around. I voted KO for Manny because he's due, though a wide decision also wouldn't shock me.
