This will be a piece of cake for Pacquiao. I'm going to watch it on PPV though.

From what we know of both fighters, I think it's an interesting match-up. It most likely won't be a crowd-pleaser, and I wish Algeri had another notable opponent under his belt. They shouldn't be putting this on PPV, but what else is new? Some will buy it, some will stream it. All those who are complaining will stream it or find something better to do.

I'm picking Algeri to frustrate Pac and eek out a decision.

-Chris has the size, height, length, and the movement however if Pac lets loose and lands his flurries it questionable how Chris will be able to handle it.

-Chris hasn't faced anyone like Pac and even if Pac is diminishing Chris still has to deal with Pac's speed and power.

-I give props to Chris's movement but as I said it'll be interesting to see how well Chris deals with Pac's speed and power

I'm a Manny fan, and I think this is a pretty crap fight. I hope they pad the card. (Though I'll likely buy it anyway.) Good on Manny for sticking up for his stable mate, that's nice of him! Err, well, and it's better than him not fighting.

With that being said, Provodnikov is glorious for his willingness to eat bricks to land punches, but a major flaw was exposed in him in that he needs to get set to throw punches. Algieri exploited that to the fullest. Good for him. It was a better plan than Bradley's when it came to Provodnikov. Algieri however is 20-0 with 8 KOs. He ain't Oscar, JMM, or even Bradley. Even with Manny's decline, and his lack of recent KOs, I'm thinking Manny KO/TKO.

I think it's a great fight. Very risky for Pacman and I think Chris is gonna win. People don't seem to appreciate Chris's abilities. It's no minor thing to outbox one of the better pressure fighters with tremendous power in a 17 foot ring, (below standard), with one eye. Add to that the fact that Pacman is smaller and not a pressure fighter, he has his work cut out for him. Remember Pacman doesn't cut the ring off very well at all.

Pacquiao will dominate Chris the kid does have some skills but doesn't punch hard enough to keep pacquiao off of him.this is not ppv worthy!

Thats my concern, is this really a PPV fight? I don't think it is, unless they pack the undercard.

But is it a fight that's better than many think it is? Sure, Chris has a huge size advantage and a much longer reach, not to mention his speed and jab. If only this was a HBO show and not a PPV.

I don't have a good feeling about the upcoming Pacquiao-Algeiri fight.

I'll split this into three different categories as to why I think Pacquiao may have shot himself in the foot for taking this fight.

                    1) Styles

Pacquiao has always had trouble with people moving. When we observe the first Bradley fight and the Shane Mosley fight, despite winning, Pacquiao showed that he had an extremely difficult time cutting off the ring. Especially in the Mosley fight, we see Pacquiao swinging and missing more often than not. His punch output and combination speed, which has been known as his strongest assets, become null when someone pulls away from him.

Notice how Manny can't ever make a full impact with his punches, aside the few ones that had Mosley on his bike.

                    2) Age

Pacquiao won the Bradley II fight, but the first 4 rounds were the absolute slowest I've ever seen Pacquiao. Pacquiao began wearing down Bradley and shutting him out after Bradley tried to engage and knock Manny out. When Bradley was pulling back and countering Pacquiao on his misses, Manny was in fits. If Algeiri can properly pull this off, because he's a good boxer-mover and Pacquiao is slowing down, it could be extremely difficult for Pacquiao to close the distance.

Just watch this sparring video to understand what I'm talking about.

                    3) Corruption

We've seen Pacquiao robbed before by Bradley. Bradley was a likeable guy with an undefeated record. Many speculated that Arum knew Manny was on his way out and wanted to create a new star. Algeiri is a good looking and likeable American who is undefeated. If it is a close fight, I wonder if it would go to the good-old Pacman or go to the newer up-coming guy.

These are all speculation, but I think this'll be one hell of an interesting fight. In my opinion, given what 'could' happen, I think this is one of the most dangerous fights he could take - aside from another Marquez fight. I could be wrong and Pacquiao could wipe the floor with this guy, for all I know.

INb4 Floyd Comments: I think Mayweather is also taking a similarly calculated risk with Maidana. Maidana could be all figured out and get UD'd easily or he could come out even harder and meaner than ever. Both fighters are taking potentially risky fights.

It is a bad style match-up for Pac. I like that he took this fight though. Algieri has the kind of style that would make Floyd look bad. Had Provo won Pac would have taken that fight.
