Great article. I agree with the writer. Neither man did enough to be considered a clear winner.

Had the fight 115-113 in favor of Lara, myself Mexican 100% from Mexico City
To me Lara won, but............... he didn't do it decisevely, and that cost him the fight.
Some points to adress
1-There were some swing rounds that could've gone to either man, like I said I had 115-113 in favor of Lara but had I flipped 2 rounds on my card it would've been a win for Canelo so Canelo winning is ok
2-Fight was close, neither man did enough to really call himself a clear winner
3-Sadly boxing is a business so a PPV guy like Canelo will always have the crowd, judges and the home location benefit
4-By what I've watched on youtube and read on boxing sites, people are not angry about the outcome but instead at the 117-111 card wich in my opinion was horrible and bulls....
5-Like the article said, and I agree with that Lara could've made a superb effort to win in a impressive way, but he didn't so he lost.
Conclussion: Canelo is a top fighter but he ain't elite, don't get me wrong when you talk about elite only 3 names come to my mind, Mayweather, Rigondeaux and Ward.
Canelo is a solid top boxer and he brings the money, so he's building his legacy fighting the best of the best, if you have someone to blame , blame the game not the player..............so blame the judge and don't blame Canelo, amen.
BTW Bring on Canelo vs Kirkland or Canelo vs Cotto, styles makes fights and those are ****ers.

Instead he fought very negatively and without urgency. I suspect that most of those in attendance or watching on tv will be very reluctant to ever make time for him again.
I really think Lara should blame nobody but himself for this loss. I'm not sure Canelo could have fought better. He's not particularly fleet of foot nor does he have great balance. It was a real challenge for him to chase Lara around and put himself in position to land without eating lots of leather cleanly. Lara, on the other hand, simply didn't do enough to win. He had the ability and opportunity and just failed to pull the trigger.

At other times he looked like a rank amateur following Lara around and missing by a country mile. Lara conversely looked great when he threw the one two and the right hook. In my opinion, the cleanest punches of the fight were those beautiful straight lefts Lara used to bust up Canelo's face. But whole rounds went by when Lara failed to throw either the straight left or the right hook. It was pathetic.
